Roy Law is the Northwest’s leading long-term disability insurance law firm helping Oregon, Washington State, Hawaii, Alaska, California, Arizona, Nevada, Idaho, and Montana residents appeal long-term disability insurance claim denials. These nine states comprise the federal jurisdiction of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which is the law governing most long-term disability insurance disputes on the west coast. Whether you have a private long-term disability insurance policy or an ERISA group plan, Roy Law can help.

Roy Law’s disability attorneys provide free long-term disability insurance claim and appeal evaluations. To start, we usually request a copy of your denial letter and long-term disability insurance policy and review the relevant information. Afterwards, we provide you counsel on the best way to proceed. There is no charge for these services.

When hired, Roy Law’s long-term disability insurance attorneys usually work on a contingency basis, meaning we get paid only if you win. Sometimes our lawyers handle long-term disability insurance disputes for an hourly fee, but that is rare and considered on a case-by-case basis.

When preparing long-term disability insurance appeals, Roy Law’s disability insurance lawyers use their intimate knowledge of the law to craft the most persuasive case possible. Generally, state contract and tort laws govern disputes arising from individually purchased private disability insurance policies, while federal law, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (“ERISA”), governs disputes over group policies obtained through employee benefit plans.

Regardless of which laws govern your dispute, all disability insurance appeals involve an in-depth understanding of the law, your insurance policy, claim file, and the reasons for denial. A winning appeal also requires close coordination with your key medical providers and health care professionals. Crafting a persuasive long-term disability insurance claim or appeal requires a significant amount of time, energy, resources, and know-how.

Roy Law’s long-term disability insurance appeal attorneys have dedicated their practice to fighting disability insurance companies on your behalf. Please give us a call, and we will provide you the best service possible.

Chris Roy and his staff are a blessing. They are thorough and competent. Disability law is confusing and he made it easy to understand. The entire time I worked with Chris and his staff, they were professional and sensitive to my situation. I appreciate working with honest, hardworking individuals like Chris. I would recommend him to anyone I know.

Chrisl Roy of Roy Law provided the services necessary for me to obtain my disability income from my private insurance.
As many others I tried to get my disability on my own and was denied twice. I then looked for help and found Roy Law. What a blessing Chris Roy and his staff have been. They took over all communications with the insurance but kept me updated on each correspondence.
Chris and Danielle came through, I was granted my disability. My only recommendation for others is don't go through the emotional first denials just call Roy Law.

I initially filed my own LTD claim thinking, how hard could this be? I soon realized that I’d need an attorney or I wasn’t going to win as my doctors did not write their chart notes in a manner that is sufficient for disability claims. So, I hired an attorney who specialized in many types of disability claims (LTD, SSDI and VA). This attorney was good for SSDI, but did about nothing on my LTD claim except take my money, and thus I was denied and given 6 months to appeal. Through the grace of god, I was able to find Chris Roy of Roy Law. Mr. Roy specializes in Long Term Disability (ERISA) claims and agreed to take my case. I was extremely impressed with Mr. Roy’s patience, compassion and professionalism. Danielle, in particular, was a blessing as she spent multiple phone calls addressing my questions and anxiety about possibly losing my appeal. Thankfully, Roy Law came through for me and I won my appeal within 2 months of filing! I highly recommend Roy Law for anyone dealing with initial or appeal LTD claims.

When I was searching for an attorney to help me with my LTD claim that was denied I searched the net. I filled out a form to be contacted by different LTD attorneys and after hitting send I was contacted by Danielle within about 90 seconds. WOW!
Danielle is one of Chris's assistants. I scheduled an interview with Chris, checked out any reviews I could find and hired the firm. My disability is of an Idiopathic nature which means its very hard to prove. Danielle was relentless in gathering all my info and Chris finalized the appeal with plenty of case study. I was half expecting to get a second denial as was discussed but the denial was overturned and the claim was accepted!
I can without hesitation recommend hiring this law firm. I am so glad I did.
Thank you Chris and Danielle

My disability payments were wrongfully terminated and I had no idea what I was going to do. Chris was so helpful, kind and patient. He is very knowledgeable about this are of the law—ERISA cases. I am profoundly grateful for all of his work. We won the case and my benefits will be reinstated.
