Facing permanent disability and unable to work I thought my insurance would cover me, boy was I wrong! I had paid the premium for many years through my employer just in case something ever happened. With no where to turn, being denied by insurance and depleting all savings just to survive I felt helpless!

Searching the internet I found Roy Law. Taking a chance I called. What a godsend ! This Law Firm, and in particular Chris Roy, saved the day. I found everyone to be professional, caring, diligent and timely. They are not only good at what they do but they take the time to make sure you understand what you're faced with and the paths to help you make the best decision. Chris and his team were successful in turning my situation around. Chris truly cares about what they do and why they do it, and for the right reasons. His firm knows the industry and how most insurance companies only care about the bottom dollar and not necessarily about your health or situation.

I'm glad I found Roy Law and highly recommend them and their ability to Help! Don't hesitate to call or give them a try. I know I'm glad I did!

I was being treated like a thief by an insurance company. I could fill a page with the explanation of the run around that I was receiving ...making me want to drop the case and just forget about hundreds of thousands of dollars that they owed me..insurance commissioner? Forget them. They were completely useless in my case. After many calls to different attorneys offices I found Chris Roy..
I don't know who wrote the bad reviews of this law office...but in my case Chris Roy was tenacious and communicated every detail with me ..believe me ...he made the insurance company pay attention.
Be smart , document your case carefully, and then turn it over to Chris Roy.
Don't get pushed around by an insurance company..be smart, get Chris Roy to help you.

I was like the many other people that wrote a review for Chris Roy. I have paid into my long term disability insurance on and off for over 18 years. I have always tried to keep working despite having 4 brain surgeries and 2 neck fusions in 6 years!! I really believed it would matter, that my hard work and determination would make a difference. I believed that if the day came that I could no longer work, I could be proud and unashamed knowing I had done everything I could to keep working. Instead the opposite was true!! Prudential has taken everything from me and I've been fighting them for 10 long horrible months!!
Thank God for Chris Roy, Danielle Barber and the rest of his staff!!! My only regret is that I didn't hire them from the beginning!! We are still fighting for my benefits but I sleep so much better knowing they are in my corner! They work hard and care about their clients. They are extremely knowledgeable and give me confidence that we are eventually going to be ok!
I saw in one gentleman's review about the Department of Buissness and Consumer Services, that they would not help. This has been true for me as well. It is very disappointing that these organizations do nothing to help the people being victimized by billionaire companies during the worst times of our lives!! I wish we could form some sort of petition with enough signatures that they could not ignore us anymore!!!

Roy Law’s Washington State long-term disability lawyers represent individuals throughout Washington State who have been denied disability insurance benefits. In fact, Roy Law is the only disability law firm in Washington State solely dedicated to fighting disability insurance companies against wrongful disability claim denials. ERISA governs most long-term disability insurance policies obtained through employee benefit plans, while state contract, tort, and consumer protection laws govern private long-term disability insurance policies.

When ERISA applies, state residents may challenge denials of long-term disability insurance benefits in federal court, the United States District Court, District of Washington, which is divided into a Western Division and Eastern Division. ERISA provides contractual damages, interest, and possible attorney fees for those who prove they were wrongfully denied long-term disability insurance benefits.

For residents denied benefits under private disability policies, state laws allow residents to bring claims for breach of contract, interest, and attorney fees, as well as a tort claim for bad faith. Bad faith law is a powerful claim because it allows for recovery of money over and above insurance benefits, like compensation for pain, suffering, and emotional hardship. Moreover, Washington has a unique law titled the Insurance Fair Conduct Act (“IFCA”), which allows recovery of punitive damages against insurers who deny long-term disability insurance claims in bad faith. Most private disability insurance disputes are heard in State Superior Court. Each County throughout the sate maintains a  Superior Courthouse.

If you are a resident of Washington State who has been wrongfully denied long-term disability insurance benefits, please give us a call. While Roy Law does not take every case, we will evaluate your claim for free and give you all options for moving forward. If Roy Law takes your case we will make our best effort to put together the most persuasive claim or appeal possible. Roy Law represents all Washington State residents, including those living in Seattle, Spokane, and Vancouver.
